1926-1945 director of the Oberschlesischen coal mine.
Mar. 1927, September 15th, Berlin, to Agnes Müller.
1944-49: Otto's family was forced to flee from Oberschlesien. They lost
all their property in Silesia. Otto made the mistake at this juncture
of remaining in East Germany and became the director of the Zwickau coal
mining corporation in Zwickau, Saxony.
????: He was awarded the "Nationalpreis" and then became professor
for mining in Freiberg, Germany.
1949 professor for mining at the Mining Academy in Freiberg, Saxony.
1961-67 director of resources at Kupterschieferbergbau, Eisleben.
1952: Otto was arrested and jailed for 15 years on charges of espionage for allegedly acting as an intelligence agent employed by West Germany and the United States. He was away from his family for 8 years and was forced to help in the development of rocket fuel systems for Russia.
1998: May, Otto died at age 97, without having had the chance to witness the fall of the GDR.
